What is the team news?

Cristiano Ronaldo is still on holiday following his exertions at the Confederations Cup with Portugal so Real are without their talisman.

Gareth Bale, a rumoured target for Manchester United earlier this week, will play in Zinedine Zindane's front-three alongside Karim Benzema and playmaker Isco - who was so impressive in their Champions League run last season. " data-reactid="58">Gareth Bale, a rumoured target for Manchester United earlier this week, will play in Zinedine Zindane's front-three alongside Karim Benzema and playmaker Isco - who was so impressive in their Champions League run last season.

Barcelona have the full compliment if Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar to select from, though the Brazilian might find himself exiled from the squad after his training ground bust-up with Nelson Semedo.

Rafinha and Gerard Deulofeu, who returned to Catalonia from Everton this summer, are both out injured.

What are they saying?

Andrés Iniesta

"It’s a bit strange to play Madrid in the preseason and so far from home. It’s all part of our preparations and it’ll be a nice game and a special one too because it’s a Clásico. I hope we put on a great show, considering the stage of the season we are at. It’s all about getting into our rhythm and gaining confidence."

What are the odds?

  • Real Madrid 2/1

  • Barcelona to win 5/4

  • Draw 12/5

What is our prediction?

Real are likely to have the upper hand in La Liga this season, especially if Neymar departs the Nou Camp. Who knows what to expect from this match however, which is essentially a glorified marketing exercise on a poor pitch. We're going for a free-and-easy 2-2 draw. There will still be plenty of gamesmanship on show. This is a Clasico after all.
